Beach Poem, On The Beach

Saturday noon, on the beach,
the tan grandson burrows into
a dug-up basin padded with sand.
I observe him from the height of my age,
again see my body draw a circle,
warm and sticky of a boy pissing in the sand.
Time flows between us, a golden froth,
and stings my lips with salt.
From the sunken mold of the sand mask
the boy that I was comes back to me,
sprawled, foaming and wallowing, coddled by the sun.
A passing cloud suddenly darkens the light,
my face takes on the hardness of graying plaster:
the short-lived joy, a forgotten image from childhood,
all is swept back, dripping between the fingers
in the rhythmic beat of retreating waves.

Translated from the Hebrew by Tsipi Keler.

Bu Bu island

Bu Bu Island is located on krabi, Thailand by set as a private island with peaceful atmosphere. There are beaches around the island, but the most beautiful one is in the west. From beach you can see some beautiful scenery of Po and Lanta islands, Krabi. The sandy beach here is white and has gentle slope, so it is very suitable for a swim. The east o fthe Island has nothing in particular, but it is a fascinating sunrise beauty spot and from here you can even see Khao Pak Meng in Trang province. The north of the island is a small bay where Koh island, Talabeng Island, Kam island and Ban Lo Yai could be seen.

Apart from the beach, there is a pathway about 800m long around the Bu Bu Island. So travelers could very well walk to other beaches to see the view or relax amidst the serene settings.

Andaman Sea

Nowadays, it is very convenient to visit islands in the Andaman Sea, especially the major islands in Krabi and Satun provinces, Thailand. There are many different kinds of boats, from passenger boat to speedboat, running to and fro between the islands and the mainland. However, in order to get to smaller and infamous islands, it might be much less choices of transportation; you might need to hire the motorboat of the locals or charter a whole speedboat there.

Koh Poda, Koh Khai, Koh Tap, Koh Mo and Koh Hong could be reached from Ao Nang. Most tourist choose to charter a whole narrow boat there and make an appointment with the boat for the returning day. The journey to these islands takes around 15-20 minutes.

Koh Bu Bu and Koh Po are easiest to reach by narrow motorboat from Bo Muang Pier in Amphoe (district) Nua Khlong, Krabi and from Sriraya Market near the old administrative office at Koh Lanta.

Koh Talabeng is close to Koh Lanta Noi toward the east of Koh Lanta around Ban Lo Yai. Travelers often rent a kayak and row to this island and back. Contact Ban Lo Yai or travel agencies on Koh Lanta for more details.

Koh Si Bo Ya and Koh Jam are best accessed by long narrow motorboat from Laem Kruad Pier. Moreover, from Krabi Tourist Pier (Khlong Ji Lard Pier) there are boat services to Koh Phi Phi which also Pass Koh Jam on the way.

Koh Li Pe and Koh Bulone are the 2 islands that could be reached from Pak Bara Pier. The regular boat leaves twice a day and the journey takes approximately 3 hours. However, if you are looking for an easier and more comfortable trip, there are plenty of travel agencies in Satun province to arrange a complete trip to both islands.

Koh Li Di is a small island near Mu Koh Phetra National Park. Most visitors choose to spend the night near the park office and charter a boat to Koh Li Di. Around the area are lodginf houses, tent site, and restaurants for tourists.
